Nicole Guertin from Kapuskasing discovered the house while she worked as Executive director for Direction Ontario, where she traveled thoroughly in Northern Ontario. She was surprised to find such a beautiful city, which was little known, nestled on the shores of Lake Temiskaming. Like many people in the North, she had not given herself the trouble of driving on Highway 11-B to discover Haileybury and Cobalt. She fell madly in love with the lake and the magnificent residence, which was the time for sale. Before long, she had made an offer on the house, planning to convert it into an accommodation for executives traveling in the region. A series of events brought her to transform her home into what are now the Presidents Suites, and something that many people can enjoy.Today, the Suites offer a new accommodation experience in Northern Ontario to a variety of clients. Nicole's goal is to help every person who visits the house discover the rich history of the region. For this reason, in 2011, she developed a partnership with Laura Landers to showcase more than 20 of her paintings. The majority of these art pieces represent places in the Temiskaming area that people can visit. The historial treasure hunt available to the Suites' guests, is also an important element that was developed to link with the rich history of the region. The most recent project that Nicole is developing with her partner Jocelyn Blais, is the establishment of the Niska leadership center. |
